I recently build a rifle on Savage 10 action with a 16" barrel in 308 Win. The barrel was the lightest that manufacturer would offer but still weights 2 lb - 6 oz. While the entire rifle weights exactly 8lb with optic and met my accuracy need, I was still a bit disappointed at how front heavy the rifle turned out.
I browsed some other barrel maker's offering, it seems like 2lb+ for a 16" 308 Win is the best I can get from most makers, regardless of barrel material. Is there anyone out there that I'm not aware of that makes a lighter profile prefit barrel for Savage?
