I am looking for a new compact lightweight spotting scope. Strongly considering the leupold gold ring spotting scope however I am unsure of where the best place to purchase would be from. The binoculars I have are Zeiss Victory FL 10x56 so the scope would have to be able to outperform those ideally. Any recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks.

I think the best money spent would be having as good a tripod mount as possible for your binos(outdoorsmen) and running a top tier 65mm spotter. Not all but a lot of spot and stalk/sheep hunters use their binos on a tripod for 90% of glassing and pull the spotting scope out to really check out the animal and count points after its been spotted. Just my 2cents.

Putting binos on a tripod is a real game changer. Especially with anything over 8x. It makes glassing so much more enjoyable and effective. I don’t think I could ever go back to free handing them all the time. A quick look or scan is ok, but I’m 90% off a tripod.

My vote for light and compact goes to the Baush and Lomb 15-45x60 Elite, aprox. 16oz, very clear roof prism and can be carried on your belt.
I lost mine to a break-in, still looking to replace with an equivalent.

I have the Vortex Razor HD 16-48x65 and love it!! Fairly light and compact and a really good glass. And of course their warranty is up there with Swarovski

Where is that specific model manufactured? Haven’t been able to find that info online,

Patrick

There's no "made in" info on the scope but this is what I have found on Amazon:
