Looking to get a reasonable aftermarket stock for a lightweight rifle project. I dont seem to see as many options out there as five years ago, just wondering who makes a good stock these days, that takes less than an eternity to get.

Check the McMillan site in the Sales and Stocks in Inventory sections. They often have a few Edge fill stocks available for common rifle platforms such as a Rem700.

You didn't say what platform but if Wildcat Composites makes it you should give them serious consideration. My order was 6 weeks from putting the order in the mail to reciving my stock in the mail. A 700 SS with ultralight fill weighed 17.2 oz as a blank. Which is significantly less than a McEdge, the Brown is lighter but is more expensive with a longer wait time. The Wildcat is also a very strong feeling stock, no flex and has well thought out lines. The forend flattens out on the bottom to ride better during recoil off a pack, while not being so flat as to be odd to hold. Just small details like that shows Stewart's attention to detail. You will be supporting a Canadian made product as well. Price is great.

Edit: doublegun beat me to it!

Starting to look like mcmillian or banser. I want to use a howa, and it doesnt seem like there are as many options. I appreciate the suggestions though.
