CDNN is selling them for $499. Condition is described as excellent to like-new. Do I see an opportunity for a Canadian dealer to make some money?

youre going to have to pay more to import it from questar than the actual price of the firearm ( i think they increased it to around 700$ to import a gun from the states)

the only way to get this cheap is to have a dealer import a bunch of them in one shot to split the import fees!

i would buy one at around 700$

I have read that they charge around $200 to import a gun.......

Well... not an individual gun, unfortunately. The U.S. has taken steps to wipe out large parts of the firearms (and parts) export business... and it is working.

"Firearm" Import Service... :
$749.00 Canadian first two guns - includes FFL Transfer Fee

$250.00 each additional gun - submitted at same time; on same permit; and imported at the same time

So we could organize a group buy, then, and bring the cost down to around $850/gun if we got a reasonable amount of people - that is, if one of the dealers doesn't just feel like bringing in a number on their own.

ArmsEast brought a bunch in last year (or the year before?). Be a little more expensive this time around but I'm sure that it's still feasable.

to get it down to 850$ US per gun we would only need 5 in the group buy if my math is right

your math isn't unfortunatly, for 5 guns i calculated it would come out to 1050$ ( with todays current exchange rate)

at 20 guns were at 900$

that is if you calculate the exchange rate ( i checked today and 500$ US comes out to 601, 42 CDN) rounded out to 600$
then you add the 750$ for the first two firearms and 250$ each one you add

5 guns = 1050$

10 guns = 950$

20 guns = 900$

40 guns = 875$

100 guns = 860$

so we would need over 200 guns to come close to 850$

ohhh, 750 for the first two, i thought it was just 750 for the first one. yea my math is way off

i also didnt do the conversion, that was 850 US no canadian

My post was just a complete guesstimation, however I daresay that $875 is pretty close to $850. After that you have some pretty severely diminishing returns.
