Lillooet BC

Lillooet , why do I know that place:confused:
Oh , YA, Obsidian , I want some, but never got up there if its the same place?
Mainland , NE of Comox as the crow flies:) I think
Oh, Obsidian was to make ammo for my Yew bows:D

Are you sure you have the right place for obsidian? I have never heard of obsidian around Lillooet. I have looked at some creeks and poked around some of the old mines, but haven't seen even one piece.
Maybe you could make your arrow heads out of jade! Actually, it is not easy to find a piece of jake big enough to make an arrow head.

I just wanted to go the easy route, no heating to make it easy to work. Chert was used quite a bit , heated in sand under a fire.
The glass is cool looking (Obsidian) and easy to work without having to prep.
Its amazing how sharp the edge gets.
I read once that a sharp knife is like a football compaired to Obsidian , always breaks @ 130 deg angle @ a molecular level.
From the looking I did, that may not be the place, but it was across from the island , and not far north.
The other option was glass bute Origon, to far

Well this is what I am trying to get away from, the sugary town webpages...
Everywhere is "scenic" "quaint" "centrally located" etc etc etc.

Some other places were Fort St James Fort St John Terrace and Kitimat

I used to travel to Ft St James on business. I found it to be a really rough town altho on the edge of a vast area of fabulous wilderness.

Terrace: loads of snow and rain. My son is up there today looking in to a new job so I might see more of it.

Kitimat: worse snow and rain. Rupert: even worse.

Smithers in a really nice town with lots of space around. I could happily live there.

Kaslo is a cool little town. (Emphasis on little.)

Basalt is most common, with some points being Jasper.. I have never seen a obsidian point in this area, although I must say that the upper hat creek has a plentitude of material variety.
