Anyone out there have any unbiased (i.e. not advertizing for them in a gun magazine) experience with those Limbsaver barrel de-resonators? I know they're not that expensive, but I figured that if they were as fantastic as they make them out to be in the ads, then everyone would have one. So far, I haven't seen anybody that owns one that could give a good example of improved accuracy.

If there isn't anyone out there that has tried one, then I might just have to buy one and do my own testing and post my results, but it'd help if anyone has prior experience. Thoughts?

Erik.

I haven't tried it personally, but it seems to get good reviews from MidwayUSA. If you decide to get one, be sure to share your results.

A friend just gave me one last week.
It's a product that I would never buy for myself, but I'll get out soon and see if it makes a difference.
I plan to slip it on my .308.
I have a load that performs consistantly without a De-resonator, we'll see if there's any difference with it installed.
Stand by...................range trip early next week (got to go to the gunshow in PG this weekend)

Bellm's shooters may have been going about their testing in the wrong way. If you have a gun that shoots well, it would seem that the barrel harmonics, among other things, are good. Now if you take that good shooter and place one of the de-resonators on it, then it stands to reason that the barrel harmonics will change. If the gun is already a tackdriver, it is very likely that the harmonics could change for the worse, and open up groups. A better test would be a rifle with a good load, that gives poor or mediocre groups. Just my thoughts.
And no, I don't work for Limbsaver.

I tried one on both my 7mm TC pro-hunter which made 1 inch groups grow to 2 inch no matter where it sat on the barrel, and then I stuck it on my savage 223, and it opened my 1/2 groups to well over an inch. It became a target really quickly thereafter. Utter waste of $$

it wouldent be something i would toss on a target rifle that gave good groups already, as someone stated it woud change the harmonics of the barrel, and likely for the worse, now if i had a gun that with watever load i tried i got crap results with, thats the one id try it on, work a load that gave the best results without the ring, and try moving the ring back and forth on the bbl to see what gave even better results.
