Got the idea from another thread about safe queens that got used so seldom that they didn't feel familiar. One poster sold the oddballs and built/bought most of his guns on one type of action for ease of use and same handling drills. Different stocks, barrels, calibers etc. Who has gone this way and what and how did you choose? If you did, what action would you use?

For hunting it would have to be a Ruger M77 mkII or Hawkeye action. I find them a bit smoother and faster than the M70s and I like CRF. For a target rifle my choice would be different.

I have kinda gone the streamlined route... most of my guns are Rugers... M77 MKII AW's or Ruger No.1's... if "push came to shove," the No.1's would be the last to go... I like their simplicity and elegance... one shot is all I need, gun or bow. I currently have a fairly complete cartridge range in my No.1's; .223, .243, 6.5X55, 7X57, 9.3X74R & .45/70... I am still after two more...

My M77's are in; .223, .243, .260, .308, .338 Fed, .358 Win, .350 Rem Mag, .44 Rem Mag, .22 WMR and .17 HM2... still looking for one more.

Id use a crf m70 action. Probably the new fn built ones as they are reasonably priced compared to the pre 64 ones. I have had bad luck with every push feed I have had never again.

I'm with you except I'd use the Classic actions for the original trigger which I feel is superior to the new one due to its simplicity.
