Link for atf form 6 info

I have a question,
under:..." Do you posses any invitation or registration to attend an upcoming competitive target shooting event or sport or hunting...."...

I have just joined USPSA and wonder if my USPSA membership is enough (to attach) or I should still get an invitation from a USPSA affiliated club?

Thanks

I put on mine a copy of my IDPA membership and my wish to attend shoots in washington state and printed out a copy of a match schedule and they issued mine no problem.... I got to submit a new one soon though as mine runs out in july.

Obtaining an approved Form 6 is not a big deal. Getting into the USA with your guns will be a problem if you don't have an invitation. For instance; Don't try to enter with your F6 and your handguns if you have a S.D. Varmint licence or take your Cowboy handguns and rifle/shotgun without a cowboy event invitation. You will be refused entry if your guns don't match your reason for enty and the proof you supply.

Ummmm...no. They make sure what you said you had on the F6 is what you have, then generally smile and wave goodbye.

I've traveled to the US with .45 and a hunting license.

If you want to run the risk, that's your choice!

I tried to go to a cowboy match with a legitamate S.D. hunting licence and was turned away by US Customs because I had no shoot invitation.

that was because you had an uninformed Customs Officer... I've always used pistols to hunt small game with a license issued from Alaska while entering the lower 48.. The ATF form 6 legitimizes your exemption to the prohibition for possesing firearms in the States... The ATF even reconmends to use hunting license vs. invitation since it allows you to have valid Form6 for 1 yr...

mind you they can turn you around for sneezing at the wrong time... it's their house they don't need a reason to turn u around....

Had mine for three years now - no problems. General hunting license for Illinois- why Illinois? Just cuz.

Usually do it about twice a year, as i add or delete firearms.

A lot of it is how you approach the customs officer.

got the 6NIA application form faxed back to me indicating the application had been approved. will there be another document that will be mailed to me or is this faxed copy the one i can take to border and also send a copy to the CPFO to get the ontario border att. BTW, it only took 1 week to get the form 6NIA approved and faxed back to me.

You can used the faxed version if it is clear enough to read the numbers. They will mail you a copy if you call them and ask them but that takes another couple of weeks or more. I always use the fax version.
