I have small stash of tin babbit, (90% Tin, 7% Antimony and 3% Copper) paid $10 per lb. I am mixing 1lb of babbit per 20lb of W-W to make up a Lyman #2 alloy for my Marlin 35Rem. Quite happy with the results. Happy hunting. How much is linotype per pound or how ever it's sold? Thanks for any replies.

Yes, you right, for just the good fill up of the mold the 2% tin is enough in revolver bullets but Lyman #2 alloy calls for 90% lead, 5%tin and 5% antimony BHN 15-16 for best performance in rifle bullets so extra $6 per 735 bullets is not a big deal. That even sounds a little rich you realy only need about 2% tin in your aloy to cast good Boolits , and with the babbit being 90% by weight tin personaly I think you may be over doing it and wasting a valuable resource at the same time ! I add about 4 oz of babbit to 20lbs of smelted w/w and cast some fine shootin Boolits ! Just my opinion of course !
