Lion skull beside black bear

Not at all, you might be surprised by what our "day to day" hunting entails as well. I believe I speak for us both when I say that YouTube highlights make everything look simple, and on your first trip to Africa, you may find yourself a bit startled by the realities. Africa is much bigger than Canada, you realise too, and there isn't just one species of baboon or terrain, situation, or even attitude towards hunters from them. :)

Hope you guys are not trying to justify anything to me! Like I said I have ZERO issues with hunting anything, much less Baboons. What I meant by it looks easy, I guess what I meant is that its easy compared to the type of huntig I do, which is extremely difficult in comparison.)

I think you would need to try it to make that judgement... short of actually trying it, probably best to not make assumptions... you know what they say when one "assumes."

Well I watched many videos, the hunt I was comparing it to, which I do every year, is bow hunting for Herd Bull Elk in the Rockies without a guide. Ya I would say it's a tad more difficult!)

I have been bowhunting for 40 years... to the tune of 300+ head of various big game species... I have hunted hard for two weeks out of remote wilderness camps, on my own and been skunked... I have also stepped out of my truck on day one, called once and had a bull down in five minutes... same species, two very different hunts. My first animal was a black bear stalked feeding on acorns and shot at five feet with a homemade self bow... that was after seven days of glassing and hot footing it over a lot of country... I have also, spotted a bruin in a berry cut at first light, on the first morning and been on my way home in under an hour... same species, two very different hunts. If my first experience had been the easy one, I might make an improper assumption about the relative ease of taking either species... kinda like watching videos on YouTube.

Isn't that interesting, my first big game animal was a black bear with a bow as well. No doubt that you can get lucky sometimes, I have with moose and deer on a few occasions, but never elk with my bow. I'll make you happy, them Baboons are one tough Hunt!)

I am ambivalent to your statement... no additional "happiness" to be derived, as I have never hunted baboons and have no opinion on the difficulty of harvesting one... however several folks who's opinion I respect say they can be difficult to hunt... that is good enough for me.

No one's offended pure shot, you gave a good few a giggle so I think we can all thank you for that. A laugh's a healthy thing, good
luck with the bow this fall and not toying with you, hope you get your 400" beast. And for the record B&C only ranks Saquatch, the Discovery Channel indicates they're a challenging though not impossible hunt.

There are lots of Sasquatch in those hills... I have seen dozens... it's all over YouTube.

Saw that video a while ago, must admit I was really jealous. Don't have horses so for me it's on foot, looks like Colorado. Here is another lucky hunter, sure looks easy don't it!
