List of AR-15 style rifles

My wife and I both own S&W 'Sport' models that lack the FA and dust cover. Both came with more than acceptable triggers.

I've read at least two favourable reviews of them as a "best buy" for the buck, including the current Guns & Ammo "AR 15" magazine. Frees up cash to go nuts with sights and accessories. S&W does barrels and frames in house to assure quality control.

So does Ruger and they offer a basic Patrol carbine that hasn't made it's way north of the DMZ as yet.
 
We've both shot in 3-Gun and I've yet to see a FA in action that didn't make the problem worse.

As for the dust cover, the reviews of the Sport model I've read took place in dusty locations and dirt was even thrown at the rifles to see what effect it would have. Nil.

Not paying for something you don't need lets you add something you do need.
 
I'd highly suggest the following in order of $$$ value lowest to high. Stag, Daniel Defense, LMT. It is claimed that if a person is on budget, buy a Stag. That is the bare bones. Or get a Colt which is around the $1200 mark CDN dollars after import etc.

And yes Norinco is reliable but finish is not that great. Windham is alleged to be very good too.
 
get a KAC sr15 and be done with it, you may have more AR down the road, but non will be as good.....well maybe a JP full custom competition rifle, but as far as LE/military AR is concerned.
KAC is 2nd to NONE
 
I just recently purchased a core 15 piston (from wanstalls) and I am very happy with fit and finish accuracy is great.i also suggest anybody looking should check them out !

Wanstalls and deal with CORE, but it seems that all they have are piston guns in stock. That adds to the price, and IMHO the piston is a solution to a problem that doesn't exist.

I Don't know about other stocking dealers.

You must be talking about pistons...

Not sure about you guys, but I routinely press check before the buzzer goes. Sometimes you need to hit the FA to seat the bolt after doing so.

Never blew a stage due to a deadman's click... Just sayin'...

Maybe that's just me tho...

Nope. Gas guns. Never needed it. Trained to ignore it. Tens of thousands or rounds through ARs.

Maintain the gun. It will run without it. If you need to press check, check which side the top round is in the mag.
