List of Canadian Big Game

How many types of Elk are there in Canada?
Depending on who you ask, the Manitoba Elk is it's own sub-species.

I have also heard reference to the Eastern Moose, the dividing line being somewhere around the Thunder Bay area.

BUM the Fannin sheep is on his own ... outfitter can sell it as a stone or dall and counts the way you want for the grand slam ... money talk on that one ...

Not according to B&C Phil, if it has black hairs in the tail or along the dorsal line it is a stone and not a Dall, Dalls must be pure white for the book. There is no such thing as a fannin sheep, it is a fallacy, colored sheep are stones and white sheep are Dalls, period, cut and dried. Because they are nothing more than two color phases of the same sheep....Ovis Dalli Dalli and Ovis Dalli Stonei, there can be no in between it is either one or the other. Black hairs = stone sheep and pure white = Dall sheep. That's how I learned it anyway......
