Kind of like asking which action is best for long range shooting?

Well, the answer to that one is obvious.

There are many calibres that will work well. There is no consensus about which is "best".
If I were going to start from scratch, I think I would consider a 6.5 or 7mm. Excellent bullets, a choice of cases.

Ok, maby I should have been a little more specific. "Which bolt action" is best.

Kind of like picking between Rem, Savage, Win, Sako, Tikka. They all have there likes and dislikes but in the end they all do the same thing.

Oh wait, bad example, Remington is the clear winner.

Anyone played with the 6.5 Creedmoor or 6.5 Grendel?

Fantastic cartridge, I just picked up a .221fb but will be building a 6.5 Creedmoor for out to 1000m next.

Anyone played with the 6.5 Creedmoor or 6.5 Grendel?

US military is playing with the grendel. put it on an AR platform. has better performance than the 7.61 with lighter bullets and lots less powder. I love the military channel.

personally i'm building a 6.5x55swe and a 223rem both in 1-8twist.
got some 140gr amax moly and some 75gr amax.
