List of reliable decent glass scopes?

My Nightforce NXS 3.5-15x50, 5.5-22x56 and Sightron SIII 6-24x50 are all great scopes, great glass and turrets track perfectly.
A couple friends of mine use March and S&B and have nothing but good things to say about them.

Like calvados I'm not a huge of a fan of Vortex, I've owned two of them (still have one) and they have some nice features for the money but I think Sightron makes a better scope (better glass and turrets) for about the same money.

I had good luck with my first scope, zeiss conquest hd5 5-25x50 upto 500 yards. The only issues were lack of target turrets and 1" tube. All things that could have been avoided if I didn't rush into it.

Second scope s&b pmii 5-25x56. This scope is seriously the cats meow, can't say enough about the optical clarity and how well it takes in light is amazing. First full day out I was able to shoot out to 300 yards and see bullet holes Until 15 min after sunset in October. I kinda screwed myself by going to this type of standard this early, but I can't complain about the scope at all.
If you can afford it, I would recommend 100%.

My vote. Nikon AR scopes M series. Super clear glass and reasonable eye relief. 98% light transfer for dawn to dusk performance. Easy turret adjustment with zero reset. Clarity and color very good. Parallax adjustable from 50 yds to infinity. Great close to medium range scopes. Very affordable. On a tight budget the P series are IMO the best value under $350. Not as clear as the M series but still very good optics. Both P and M series use a BDC 600 reticle which is a big plus.

Every scope is different. The more money you drop on something does not mean it will work perfectly. It just means it is a lot less likely not to work perfectly. You might find a $150 scope that has great glass and spot on tracking, but that is extremely unlikely. At the same time, the odds that you will get a Zeiss or S&B with poor glass and ####ty tracking is also extremely unlikely, but not impossible.

I've used NF almost exclusively, for a reason. That been said, when I shoot my buddies S&B, I have to wipe off the drool every time.

Here is a link to a series of tests done on tactical style scopes popular in the US PRS matches. http://precisionrifleblog.com/2014/09/19/tactical-scopes-field-test-results-summary/

Thanks for the great link. I like this because of its quantitative and unbiased testing methods. I compete in short range shooting matches (under 50 yds) so none of these would be useful to me. Besides all that I am retired and shooting on a pension. The cheapest scope is probably close to my overall annual budget. LOL Damn the price of ammo these days!

At the entry price range, have a look at the Sightron S1H and S1H Tac line up.

I am stunned at how good the optics of these scopes are... I mean they beat most consumer 1" scopes and at a very low price point.

I hope to get one out to test tracking and mechanicals but the optics so far has impressed me enough to even bother.

Thank you gents for all your input and experiences.

One thing I forgot to add to the requirements was POI must not change through the zoom range.

Where would we find S1H's in Canada?
