List them off guys, what's everyone shooting for Moose opener.

12 g

Wow, you guys must be pretty new at moose hunting. I'm going on 50 and have yet to shoot a moose at more than 120 yards, usually less than 60. If I don't have my old 1970s Win mod 70/30.06 with 3 power scope, then I'll likely be using something old with iron sights like my Mosin 91/30.

All the power to you and each to their own, but 500 yards, Really? For moose? A 12G slug with no sights works pretty good.

Shotguns for moose not legal in BC.

Fiddler I have been hunting moose here in Saskatchewan since 1982 and can only recall two yrs with tag soup you do the math the conditions here can be as stated 30-500 yds I have shot them every distance in between.

Tikka T3 LSS in 7mm RM, 3-9x40 Zeiss Conquest, Federal 160gr Partitions OR Marlin 1895 GG in 45-70, Leupold FX II 4x33, Hornady Evos.

New country to me so I will take both and decide as the trip progresses.

I always bring a selection of rifles with me, you just never now when you'll need an extra.:D:p

I took this custom Remington 700 in 375 Chatfield-Taylor on a Yukon moose hunt this year. 22" stainless bbl by Bevan King. Sights are NECG. Scope is Leupold VXIII 1.5x5, loaded with 270gr TSX.

Didn't get a moose, but it did get a 6oo lb mountain caribou.

I use a Remington Model 700 BDL Deluxe in .270. I've never had to shoot at more than 75 yrds. My father has probably 60 to 70 Moose kills under his belt, he uses a Parker Hale Sportster Deluxe in .303 British. He bought the gun Brand New some 40 plus years ago at a cost of $85.00. It was only about 12 years ago that he bothered to put a scope on it, up until then it was all with open sights. He's killed Moose with everything from a .22LR up to 30-06 over the years.

Our moose has already hung for 2 weeks and has spent the last one in my freezer, but I took a new to me BRNO 602 in 375 H&H with a 2.5-8x36 VXIII. I loaded some 300gr TSX's with 78gr of H414. I didn't get to shoot it, though.
