Agreed plus the cost of licensing & moving the whole project from its host country doesn’t do much to lower costs

Not to be a naysayer but the RCMP has had this under review since last year spring if I am not mistaken, so it seems obvious that it’s dragging slowly with no rush to decide.

Not necessarily. On their website Lithgow states it is an entirely new bullpup design which should, in theory, be able to be classified as an entirely new firearm but who knows with the RCMP.

I think the Lithgow will be classed similarly based on appearance alone.
But maybe I'm just being a pessimist. They classed the Type 81 NR after all. I guess we'll see...

Yes it is prohib by name. As was already mentioned, this is a different design. So fingers crossed!

The AP80 was actually banned as a variant of a named .22 AK, not a x39 AK. That is what allowed the AP80 to get caught despite the lack of compatible parts shared with a true x39 AK rifle.

Identical and from the same assembly line as the Mitchell Arms AK22.

The Mitchell Arms AK22 is named in the OIC as prohibited.

AP80 is thus a mechanical variant of a named prohibited firearm.

Understand what guns are on the "AK" list. Politicians classed the AK22 as prohib by appearance.... not the lab.
