Is the original Aug prohibited by name? If so, then we can assume there is no chance we can ever see this, as they will be a variant of a named prohib.
Not necessarily. On their website Lithgow states it is an entirely new bullpup design which should, in theory, be able to be classified as an entirely new firearm but who knows with the RCMP.
Lets hope. They could still consider it a varient, but likely not if they follow their own guidelines.

That AP80 has no parts compatibility with a real AK yet it is classified as a variant.
I think the Lithgow will be classed similarly based on appearance alone.
But maybe I'm just being a pessimist. They classed the Type 81 NR after all. I guess we'll see...
