Little badger not firing every time?

You guys are awesome! Thank you.

I did file a very small amount of the recevier away already just 1/5 of a mm. Ill stop and test fire before doing anything else.

Everything seems to be operating correctly every trigger pull: No binding, pin "fires"everytime I pull the trigger, firing pin is pointy in shape, spring with firing pin is ok, and no burrs in the pin channel.

I think maybe this is "one with enough tolences stacked up to cause grief" as was suggested.

Thank you very much for the help gentleman!

Ok, solution found...closing the break action gentley, even though its locked in place, results in weak firing pin action quite often. But closing the break action with just a littke authority, results in strong firing pin action everytime.
Not sure why, but it works like 100% when closed quickly, not gently.

Nice, I've noticed that with other break actions as well..... close them with authority!

I have owned 2 of them. a .22 LR and a .22 mag. The LR became one of my keep guns after some fun mods but the .22 mag i did't care for. I like the extra power but i didn't like my ears ringing after every shot. i like the subsonics out of the LR version.

The .22 mag I got off a member here was supposed to be a box or two of rounds fired, perfect shape, etc. When I got it it was clearly never fired, especially after I tried to shoot it and it wouldn't fire.

I used a jewelers file to adjust the latch I think because it didn't close up tight and then once it did, I didn't like the muzzle blast of the mag. I traded it towards a couple 1851 colt replicas and a .54 hawkins rifle. Good trade.

Does it have a retraction mechanism to pull the firing pin back, or lift the hammer? Tied to the locking lug?

I would read that issue as being that there was, and the snappy closure of the action gets the lug seated fully.

Hard to troubleshoot simple problems without hands on. :)

Glad you got it worked!

Did anyone find a place where you could buy the firing pin for the Chiappa Little Badger? I am having the same issue and want to replace the pin.

Make sure your chamber is clean.
If you have a carbon ring build up it can prevent cartridge from seating fully and then on first strike the firing pin seats the case fully not allowing for a solid hit as the rim is not seated against chamber.

This could be why some find snapping the action shut prevents the light primer strikes.
