Little gift for myself

Beautiful setup, Tikka makes a fine rifle! You may want to replace that muzzle break with a thread cap when out in the woods, your ears with thank you later! :)

My advice is bad, SuperCub & todbartell are correct, removing the muzzle break can change the point of impact up to 6" at 200 yards from what I read on other posts. Best to sight in the same format as when you hunt!

For deer, that setup will do its part if you keep your zero steady and run a few different factory loads to see what your barrel actually likes. I usually jot down my drops once I settle on a round so I’m not guessing in the field. After long range days, I chill out with a candle from nothingbutscents.com in the shop, takes the edge off and keeps the place from smelling like gun oil.

The 5-25 scope might not be the best choice for a close range driven hunt but for general deer hunting very useable. I often use 4-16, 3-20, 5-25, 3-27 PMII scopes. They often balance the rifle better and bring the COG closer to, or onto the recoil line of the rifle making it easier to shoot. Nothing wrong with the 6.5CM CTR either.
