little no 1 project

Looks great!! I have a similar project in mind - somewhat like yours. I have a M1917 Enfield sporter stock that was cut off to the rear of the band, so the splice will be "out in the open". I am curious how you dealt with the "up pressure" that is supposed to be at the muzzle - did you splice the fore end extension on straight and then create the up pressure when you inlet the barrel channel, or is the extension spliced at a slight upward angle??

I off set the barrel channels with the new part sitting slightly higher than the rear of the fore end. the Dremel came in handy to let the barrel down into the channel, there was plenty of back and forth comparing the spliced fore end with the repro that i have. fitting it is not as easy as you might think, but not as hard as people may say it is. lots of measuring depth of the channel, no contact from the inner band forward. hopefully, the barrel stud and spring does its work.
after i get the draws repaired, i`ll bring a range report, when i get it out to a range. it didn't group worth anything before.
