I've been thinking of buying a set of little skeeters gauge reducers for an old 16 ga side by side. I don't handload shotgun shells so 16 ga can be hard to get in the shot size I want. 20 ga would be great, being able to buy value packs from wal mart would mean some time on the sporting clays range with it.

Anyone own any little skeeters or used them????

I wouldnt use them for sporting or any other clays game. They are to slow to reload and your squad mates would be ready to kick your ass after a few stations.:D They dont have extracors and sometimes the hull get stuck in them requiring being poked out with a stick.

I like them for informal stuff in a gravel pit. I have a set of 12-28's and a set of 12-20's. They shoot ok, but are dirty as all get out. My gf really like shooting the 28g's.

I shot a round of skeet with a guy who had a set and as gth said after the first couple of stations the patience of the rest of the squad was wearing thin.
He had to remove the little skeeter after every shot and push the case out with his finger, then replace the skeeters in the gun, load and shoot.
A real PIA

Some hulls work much better than others. I have a set of 12-28. Winchester AA hulls will pop out no problem, but Challenger hulls need a little intervention to remove them.

Personally I love them. I regularly use full length gauge tubes, and really enjoy shooting subgauges. The little short tubes are real easy to use in a hunting gun to give you a subgauge gun for a very reasonable price.

Brad.
