Live rounds in the sand bucket

Do any reloaders here collect the live rounds in the discard sand buckets?
What is your range's policy on this? My range said I'm doing them a favor as they have to treat this as hazardous waste.

I also wish to point out that I collect these to recycle the round, keeping the slug and the brass only.

The discard box at our range is a heavy steel box with a slot and it is kept locked so nobody can go digging around in it...

ours is buried under ground, with a metal tube to drop the rounds down. it needs to be dug up to access.
