Ive been reading about spotting scopes recently and got to thinking

WHAT IF.....

I set up a camcorder over by a my target (200 yards) and run a wire back (or wifi adapter) to my iphone/tablet that will stream a live video?

With this setup I dont see any problems with clarity or mirage ect.

Has anyone tried something like this?

I know this set up would be useless in the rain but considering I already have a camcorder and tablets why spend the money on a spotting scope that I cant justify to the wife right now. :\

Just want to know if anyone tried something like this or knows of something similar.

I use my Vtech baby monitor. It's color, I can zoom/pa/tilt. Has 100 feet/300m range!
$110
Usefull for the babies!
Wife can't complain, dual perpose!

Yep, the paper that turns color works best, however cardboard and white paper work too.
I put a metal plate infront of the cam to protect it. The cam can either be powered by batteries or pluged in if you have a power source. Cool thing is, the cam works for over three hours before the parent unit or cam need charging. If you have rechargable batteries and enough to swap, you can double your shooting time. Pluged in your golden!
And for $110!

If you have any electronics experience you can build a really good system cheap. I have a camera and transmitter on my RC airplane, that transmits wirelessly to a handheld screen on my controller. Called "FPV" flying, range on the smallest system is over 1km, total costs to build about $120.
