Ljungman AG42B help

I recently got a Ag42b and I want to clean the gas tube how do you get the gas tube off? there is a small screw that I am having trouble getting off when I get that off will the gas tube unscrew or do I have to take something else off first? Do you guys clean the gas tube after you go shooting? any help would be appreciated

Bob, I fired MANY hundreds of rounds through mine over the past 25 years and have never cleaned the gas tube and I don't plan to do it anytime soon. If it is functioning fine, my suggestion is to leave the tube alone. I have never had a problem with my AG42 ever so I never tried to remove the gas tube.

You'll never get that screw out, it's punched in place.

There is no need to clean the tube, but a small, long pipe cleaner may work.

I've never cleaned any of mine and never had an issue either.

Many thanks guys I will leave it alone. I guess I am so use to cleaning the gas systems on all my other semi-auto rifles that I wanted to clean this one.

I have a AG42b and never cleaned the gas tube but if you really want to clean it you may shoot some brake or carb cleaner through the gas tube and dry with compressed air.

My example has the screw punched in place as well - and all this time I thought it was some armourer's idea of a joke! I guess my eternal quest to find the perfect long thin bottle brush is not required.
