I recently brought my Ljungmann down to Vegas to shoot with some friends, and brought it back with a hefty portion of the desert in my gun case, all over and in my gun. I can field strip it no problem (easiest semi-auto to field strip I have seen) but the detail strip gets me hung up on one spot - the forward barrel band. How do I get this off? I can take out all the screws for the trigger assembly and the butt plate, but the band that holds the front end of the wood to the barrel (where the cleaning rod is inserted) just won't come off. I have tried depressing the lever that is on the underside of the stock, even putting a flathead screwdriver under it to try and release a catch if there was any and still nothing. How do I get this off?
