A good question.

My friend is interested in my Kimber custom 11 45.# I have no use for a 45 as I shot my first handgun last weekend and I̓'m happy enough for the other 3 I own, a Glock 17,# Sd9ve and a Browning challenger I decided to keep.

Now he wants to trade me his Llama 1911 45 and some cash, again im not interested in any 45 but it would help him cash wise for the deal.##

I know nothing of LLamas and wondering what they are worth and what I can hope to get from it so in the end I get about what I wanted cash for the Kimber.# he's a good friend so I want to ask the proper amount of cash as well, but dont want to be stock with another handgun I wont use.#

thanks for your help fellow gunnies......

well...I owned one. It looked very nice. It functioned well. No ftf or fte. Ran good,.... Had zero accuracy.
sold it for $250 plus shipping as I recall.

Everything is pretty straight forward.
The fact that a company is out of business doesn't bother me one bit, we all buy equipment that is no longer warranty so we see a gunsmith but it seems pretty bad so far. He just told me he values it st 300 with upgraded grip. Okidokey

Depending on the model and the year a Llama can sell pretty quickly on line. Could you post a picture?

I’d say 300 is fine if it’s in cherry shape and has at least two magazines . I have an Omni in 9 mm . It shoots great but I rarely take it out because it’s a gun that you cannot find magazines for . The mags are more rare then hens teeth and none are made aftermarket . I’m told that ALL Llamas are like that , personally I’ve never seen mags for them for sale .

It's been years since any meaningful discussions surrounded LLama pistols circulated on the Forums. IIRC they are not true 1911's. Some of the dimensions internally were different I think. I do remember "junk" was a word often included in most discussions involving the pistols.

Sell the Kimber on the EE if you want to get rid of the gun. Forget the LLama.

Take Care
