I have seen a few of these for sale (cheap) are they any good? Reliable? Is there any place in the US that has magazines who will ship to Canada?

I had one and it was a decent enough gun. Getting parts, mags, even grips was the problem. I sold mine due to that issue.

Getting magazines for oddball guns seems to be an issue. I looked at most of the Canadian dealers here and none. I guess I'll avoid it!

I have shot both the Llama and the Nork. Compared to the Llama, the Nork is a much better pistol; and off the shelf mags from anyone fit it and work. While about the same money, the Nork is not "cheaping out"

I haven’t bought a recent mfd Nork 1911, but the pre-2010 built ones are better built, IMO.

Yep, full of MIM guts now...that was the one good thing they had going, everything was forged and milled.
I had one of the newer "chromium" units, I expected the typical Chinese fit/finish but did not expect all the MIM small parts. Put a few mags through it and sold it quick.

My only experience was last fall I was a guest at a local club and a fellow was having all kinds of problems with a 9 millimeter 1911 type gun. It was not a Norinco or Llama. I was kind of shocked to see a handgun fail like that. He fired one or maybe three shots and it would jam. He would clear it and do the same thing again. I don't want to say what brand in case I breach some rules here.

Name what ever brand you want...

My Llamas were rough, but never a hicup

Over the years ,I have handled a few, quality was O.K. Mags are iffy, I kind of liked the smaller mini 1911 type in 32 and 22 , neat , but not a gun you would want as a back up, not that it matters in Ca. It has been long enough ,I don't remember what mags I was using in the 45's.
BTW, you can name names, I have seen good 1911's in 9mm that would not work with tight match chambers work at all , with reloads , unless a quality full length die was used.
Not much problems with my norcs, as they seem to shoot any old reload.
