Just thought I'd share some before and after pictures of a Llama XA pistol in 32acp, that I just refinished. The XA is basically a 2/3rd size 1911. It fits my hands very well, and points like a 1911. When I bought it the finish was a little rough, lots of scratches, and the grips were really worn. So I sandblasted and armacoated the slide flat black, along with the safety and slide release. The frame was color case hardened and clear coated, along with the magazine. The hammer and trigger were nickle coated. And a new set of hard wood grips added. I'm really pleased with the results.

Yes, they are really quite accurate. I think this is due to the barrel bushing and slide being snug. The grips were off ebay, and came from Thailand. They cost about $50, and the seller was montacha2014. They needed minor fitting, but are quite decent for the money.

I have the .22 and the .32, they are a blast to shoot. It is so fun letting other people try them out at the range (who can never own them).

I'm impressed. I love to see These older guns, showing their years of use and wear, Brought to this point where they are "new" again, used, and appreciated. It has come a long way from when it lay in the back of my safe.
 
It is a simulation using three different chemical mixtures, then clear coating. They basically work like bluing, but create the various colors. Took a little trial and error to get the process sorted out, but it was worth the work. I think the look of case coloring used judiciously is a great addition.
 
Over the years I have handled new ones and they never looked that good, great job, I always liked these little guys, only ones I had troubles with where the newer model 9mm double stack mags.
I had asset of "rosewood" / grips from that outfit and real nice finger grove foe a s-w586, real nice , but they warped abit when they arrived in this dry climent, but after a bit of work they worked.
