I currently have a new unfired LMT 14.5" (pic below). Since I can't seem to find my old LE6920 w/ SAFE/SEMI markings and Anchor Harvey forging I sold a while ago to possibly buy back... I am contemplating selling this one and getting the newest LE6920. Would you? If so, why?

You bet i would, there's no trigger on your LMT! ;)

Now i know why it is unfired. :D

Joking aside, unless you can get a 6921, keep the LMT.

I've had LMT before - fine rifle. But I was lucky to try Colt LE and there is huge difference in accuracy, reliability, quality and handling. I have nothing against LMT, but Colt is just a better rifle IMO.
I cannot speak of the newest Colts as there might be change in quality and could be some shortcuts in manufacturing lately. But original LEs are built like tank and will last you a lifetime.

Sell it to me for $500 so it will actually get some use. I don't understand the purchase of safe queen modern ARs.

Why doesn't your rifle have a trigger? If you're not going to shoot it why do you collect them. You might as well have asked whether you should sell your Prada purse and get a Gucci because you liked the Gucci you had before. If you don't like Big Red's offer, I could go as high as $525.

"Unfired" by who? When most people refer to a gun as "Unfired" they usually mean that it's brand new, factory original and untouched. That is certainly the implication.

The gun in your picture has the factory tags removed, the trigger is missing. It's hard to see from the picture but that looks like an A2 Pistol Grip... how old is the gun? LMT hasn't sold their guns with A2 pistol grips for as long as we've been handling them... LMT lowers ship with ERGO grips and earlier models with Tango Down Battle Grips. I've also never seen LMT ship any of their uppers with side sling attachment point installed on the upper... who know's what else has been changed.

In addition to all of that... if it really is a factory LMT upper then it would have been "fired" at the factory as part of their testing protocol.

I think it's a bit misleading to call that gun a "new unfired" LMT even if you never fired a round through it... the modifications sort of make it a "used gun"... at least in my opinion.

I've owned and actually fired rounds through a couple LE6920s (I won't own safe queens). They get a "meh" from me. No different than any other AR when it comes to infrequent shooting at the range. Personally, I found some variability between the LE6920s. Most were ok, one was a bit off and had a funky trigger. But honestly, they weren't any different from a Norinco in the categories that really count: precission and reliability.

To the OP, If you're gonna trade a LMT for a Colt you're really just looking at trading strawberry kool aid for grape. Either way, you're still drinking kool aid and your rifle still isn't getting used :p

I'll double it and pay $1050 :)

Unless you are married to the logo, taper pins and park under the FSB the LMT is kickass ...should you decide to actually put a trigger in it you don't need to worry abut the silly Colt pin sizes ...I have had both and there was zero difference in terms of reliability, end user confidence and I actually found the LMT to be the more accurate barrel when using 55 or 62 grain ammo. This is really a BMW vs. Mercedes debate.
