Hi Guys,

Just curious if anyone has had experience installing these. I am looking to get one and an MS3 sling, but I have heard that the ASAP plate is a bit of a b!tch to install and requires some retro fitting.

I run an LMT CQB, and would appreciate any experiences you guys have had.

If someone from Questar sees this, maybe you can chime in about any experiences you have seen.

As always, thanks for your replies.

Cheers,
T

We have the ASAP plates in stock.

We can send one to you or your gunsmith to try out. If it doesn't fit, send it back, if it does fit, we'll send you the bill. ;)

Wow, that great (service)! Never disappointed with you guys.

Myself and another already have 3 products pegged from your website to order - ASAP plate, front RSA, and MS3...a package deal would be wicked (PM me if this is something you would consider - I am in Kingston so I could pick-up).

I've installed 5ASAP's... they are an easy install; needle-nose pliers to plop the little block in place (usually the commercial one will fit a milspec setup nice and snug.)

I have an ASAP on my rifle. It was easy to install, but I found it a little difficult to stake the castle nut properly due to the height of the ASAP. I eventually got it staked but it looks like hell. Otherwise it works great, very overbuilt, bulletproof unit.

It's not too bad an install as long as you know what you are in for and have the proper tools...I was not one of these people, so for me it seemed like a huge pain in the ass at the time :)

The diameter of castle nuts must vary, as mine staked pretty nicely with one good punch strike:

I do not stake mine. I just blue loctite the nuts.

Meh...as long as it works, right? Black rifles are supposed to be used and abused. You can probably see in the bottom left of that picture how "nice" my receiver looks.

Very, very simple.

Just did one and it took about 3 min. if that. ;)

Just stick it in the vice like so.......

Ditto, installed my own... just follow the lovely pictures that come with it... I ordered mine from Brownell's and the wrench to remove the castle nut, just need to watch out for the rear detent spring for the rear takedown pin
