LMT CQB16 Vs, PWS MK116

I recently bought the LMT MRP from Questar as my first AR15. I have not seen or held a PWS. I have been very impressed with the LMT so far, build quality is superb. I still need to take it to the range though, as I got snowed on this weekend and did not feel like driving out there.

Questar changed the buffer tube for me to an adjustable one, $80, they had them in stock although it says special order. As for the 16” barrel I am happy with it as is, and I bought a 10.5 barrel. The 10.5 is chambered in 5.56 and does have the flash suppressor. Extremely easy to change barrels and as far as I am concerned I have the option of using my ar for 2 purposes. Cheaper then 2 uppers.

Thanks to Mark, great guy, great service.

Hi guys,

Thanks for all of the responses.

As some have pointed out, I wasn't looking for the cheapest way to get in. I am buying this firearm to keep for a long time. I want somethig reliable, something that shoots well, and something that makes my man gene feel good when I see it and shoot it. I am not mil or LE so, this is purely for enjoyment of the sport.

Both rifles sound like they would do the job.

The only draw back I see to the LMT is the fixed extension tube and the "compliant" barrell (also, can only replace wit LMT barell).

In the end, I think based on my research so far I like the LMT, and seeing as I am dropping $2k on a rifle, if I end up spendig a few hundred bucks on upgrading it with the proper extension tube and a compensator, not a big deal.

Thanks again.

Questar can also thread the barrel for you before they ship it, I would guess its prolly a 100 buck touch including a birdcage FH.
