A combination of LMT's fantastic MRP, known quality and innovation make this one a winner IMO.

i forget where, maybe wolverine.. but i saw a kit for upgrading your gas tube to gas piston for your ar. was around $500, seemed like it was ready for purchase.
 
well... i cant say how well these work, but after seeing the hk vids on youtube, i am as sold as i can be, living in canada.... buddy popping out of water, fully submerged, busting off a few round and then switching to full auto and letting lose... then there is the shovels of dirt being dumped on it as it fires. being dug out of the soil and fired.. etc...
 
Hopefully this will go through some actual milspec testing and not be labeled a novelty like some other gas kits. Looks great though
 
will the Piston kit be available for a 10.5 CQB MRP? Or will the short barrel make it "not" for sale even if you already have the MRP?

LMT announced this product "unofficially" at SHOT earlier this year and have shown working prototypes since then. Reports were very good from what I heard, but the product have never been put on their product list or price lists. Last time I spoke to the factory about them (@ July) they said "maybe" November for first availability but they wouldn't take orders for them as they still weren't "official".

There is supposedly going to be a kit that allows anyone with an MRP to convert to the gas piston system but no details on how... or price... or when.

If it's just parts then export shouldn't be an issue but trying to predict the future is like predicting the weather... who knows for sure?

I've been running a CQB MRP for 2 years now and frankly it runs so well and so clean I can't see any reason why I'd want to change to the GP... but that's just me.

Looks like fewer springs in the LMT setup than the Ares kit. Looks like the piston is returned forward by just the bolt carrier. I wonder if there a spring hiding in that gas block cap.

Is it possible there are no springs used in the LMT system? That would be neat.

well post news when you get it..I wouldnt mind it for my MRP.. :D
 
You will need a new barrel kit and bolt carrier they have 12" and 16" barrel gas piston kits.

They will publically release the 16" upper first - then a conversion kit for the guys who already have MRP's -- the 12" will follow.
 
Spoke to LMT today.

The kit only works with the CQB MRP (not the rifle MRP's).

No pricing available yet from them, so no idea what price will be here.

They expect to release the 16" 1/7 Chrome Lined barrel kit in @ 30 days and hope to have pricing release very soon.

There will be a 12" barrel kit available for release about the time of the SHOT Show.

That's all the info they are giving at this time.
