LMT Iron Sights Angled at 45 Degrees

Kinda cool irons... Goofy how you have to shift the rifle at 45 Deg though no?

I like it. I had an Blackwater guy I met tell me about them a little while back, said he loved them. Said they were great for when magnifying optics were on the firearm cause you didnt need to do anything to switch back to irons for engaging close targets, just had to tilt the gun.

I've also heard that some competition shooters use them.

The Aimpoint Micro on a 45 degree mount is a more costly but more effective way of doing this.

I have used one (range only) with an ACOG mounted at 12 o'clock. It is not my preferred method of setting up a gun, but it works well for some. The design idea came from a unit that was mandated that the ACOG be their primary optic, yet they wanted the Micro T-1 for close engagements. Freddie Blish, head of Aimpoint USA Mil Sales ran a setup like this for a Pat Rogers class and found it to be quite effective.

With more powerful magnified optics this becomes an even better setup. Scan with rifle canted, acquire target with Micro, cant rifle back to vertical and your scope is on target. Better than searching through a magnified tube.

Thanks for the info... I did some searching, and the setup with the Micro T1 looks pretty Bad-A**.

Unfortunately I don't have the cash to be putting 2 sets of optics on a gun... :(

A good option for a larger optic too...

I have a LaRue angle mount for a T1 when in use with my ACOG for my deployment to come in A'stan. Seems pretty good, but I'll have to mount it on the KAC rail instead of the upper rail, 'cause the Larue isn't weaver friendly....(C-7)
