Due to the US state dept restrictions on AR's i ran out and bought an LMT lower with std collapsible stock.

I was wondering what uppers will fit.
My concern is im new to LMT so will any upper fit or are the pin sizes different.

Ive heard people talk about pin adapters will i need this or can i mount any upper.

you can buy bushings or special adapter pins to fit colt uppers to military spec lowers and military spec uppers to colt lowers

So why is colt different.
Are the mating holes bigger or smaller

SO i guess if i stay away from Colt uppers ill be fine?

Colt for reasons best left to them to explain, phucked with thier AR-15. They changed the front takedown and sear and hammer pin sizes so military parts couldn't be easily installed. Some models also had a steel pin pressed into the shelf below the hammer so a DIAS couldn't be installed. It also ment most match triggers couldn't be installed.

Further to C223's comment...dare I say this....Sparrow put your sunglasses on!!!!!!

They chose to make them NON-MILSPEC so that the military goods stayed with the military and the citizen's of the US of A could not use those MILSPEC items. Because like all gun laws, it made perfect sense and really did help public safety and prevent serious gun crimes. :runaway:
