Picked up a Leupold MK4 MRT scope with BDC dial stamped 7.62 168gr.

Putting it on my custom 243 Winchester. A Gaillard barrel, it is designed for the 107gr Berger.
Has anyone ideas or experience making up compatible loads.
 
Use JBM Ballistic Calculator and figure out a comparable trajectory out to the distance you plan on shooting to. You should be able to figure out the velocity needed to achieve this, my guess it will be quite a mundane load.
 
I agree with CyaN1de that it will be a mundane load; but if you really want to do this, the way he describes is the way to do it.

My recommendation would be to not bother with the BDC dial. You have a very high performance combination there, you ought to get it shooting as best you can, make up a drop chart using your m.v. (and if you can, the G7 b.c. for your bullet). and simply dial the correct number of mils or MOA needed for whatever distance you are shooting.

Just for giggles, I would adjust the scope on a 100 yard target to see what the come-ups equal to. That would give you the approximate zero distance for your .243 loads using your .308 BDC dial. If you know how high the 100 yard impact should be for your load when the rifle is zeroed for long range, you can then apply a value to the BDC setting. You could then confirm the the zero distance by shooting at that range and record the adjustment for that range.
