Anyone by any chance have some load data for Norma "Tri-Clad" bullets. They're a steel jacket sandwiched between 2 layers of copper. I picked up some from a fellow Gunnut and need some data to work up loads.

They're 7mm (measure .283" dia), 160 grain boattails
I'm going to be loading for my 7mm Rem Mag.

I have a limited number of them, so don't want to wast any of them loading by trial & error.

Come on Johnn Peterson...........rescue me!

I have IMR 4831, H-4831, H-1000, Retumbo, RL-22, RL-25, IMR 7828 (and a host of other powders) available to try.

If you have been reading the reloading section for the ten years or so that you have been on here, you have probably seen fifty posts, maybe more, stating to use the same load data for the same weight bullet, regardless who made the bullet.

I have these TriClad bullets in several diameters and weights. As H4831 states, just use the loads for the bullet weight.

I have done this in a number of chamberings, and found no issues.

Just one note....since the 7mm bullets are .283" rather than .284", you may see low pressure signs unless you are shooting a load that is "warmer"
When I loaded them in my 7mm SAUM, using the load I was using with the 160 Accubond, the cases were smoked on the outside a bit, indicating low pressure.
I simply upped the load by 1½ grains, and all is great.

These are actually pretty decent bullets, and stay together surprisingly well. Regards, Dave.

Apologies guys.............................I quit being lazy, did a search, and see that I posted almost the same question in 2009 regarding the .277 bullets that I got at the Calgary gun show. Still haven't gotten around to working up a load with them.

Thanks
