For an AR-15 should NOT, (when you return home from the range), involve shaking popped primers out of your trigger mech.

Anyone have some load data for Varget and 77 grain Sierra Matchkings?

22.5 grains is NOT working so well for me....

NS

My load for 77 SMKs:

23.5 gr. of Varget
Winchester Cases trimmed to 1.750"
BR-4 or Fed. 205m primers
2.250" OAL
77 SMKs crimped with a lee factory crimp die
Average velocity is 2650 fps.

Bullet drop with a 100m zero: 4"@200m 24"@300m 48"@400m 80"@500m

Barrel is a Colt 20" 1:7 HB

I can get them to +/- 2750 fps, but all flattened primers and some on the verge of popping. Not worth the bother imho.

If you're popping them at 22.5 grains, what is your velocity?
I'd back off half a grain until she stops or if you are unhappy with the velocities, go with another powder.
You can play with your lock time, but you are likely still beating the gun up.
