load for 22-250AI

I am building a 22-250ai planing to shoot 55g V-max leads for now what do fellow GNR use for loads with that lead.the barrel is Gailard at 26 inch long and have a 1/12twist. the gun will be for varmints and temp changes from 0 to-35. I dont get time to shoot in summer.

in my 22-250 i used Varget and 4064 and Rl 15 are these sutibale powders for the AI or they little to fast?

I'll look through my data when I get home, but if memory serves you can start with 220 Swift starting loads and carefully work up. - dan

barrel life in my first 3 barrels was around 1000 rounds. Don't waste it on too may test loading.

I've always wondered, if one cartridge is known to be a barrel burner. If not going out to varmint, why not shoot low power charges to extend barrel life?

yes KDX will be bit on heavy side and hope it will be accurate I have always used a heavy barrel for varmits!and Charles.emond you are right for pounding paper I have a 6BR the 22-250AI is strickley coyote gun. Would burn it out in no time target shooting.

starting to get excited gun will here hopefuly next week.I was looking at my powder supply and it is getting low on all so have to pick some what would be the best to try (ie) varget,RL17,RL22,etc or any other any thoughts would be great! thanks Disker
