Load for 9mm luger 124gn Lead RN, with Red Dot

Has anyone had any success with a load for a Glock 17 (3rd Gen if it matters) in 9mm, using 124grn Lead Round nosed bullets and Red Dot?

I've used 3.5 grains Red Dot behind a 125 grain cast round nose bullet. Overall cartridge length was 28.5 mm. I've only tried 50 rounds so far but it worked fine in my Glock 17. Recoil was mild compared to factory ammo.

Interesting, how did you find it for accuracy? Alot of what I've read says to use 4.7grn of Red Dot for the same projectile

I didn't check the accuracy - was busy mindlessly blasting. I was more concerned with cycling, and that was ok. Judging by the felt recoil the powder charge could be increased but I haven't had the time to explore it any further.

Use Promo. It is Red Dot without the red dots. It is a whole lot cheaper. I use 3.3 gr. under a 147 gr ball and it factors 132 for IPSC.
