I am new to canadian gun nutz I have been lurking around and got some great info . Now I need more . I just got a 7 mm wby mag I have no idea of which load to start with ? i load my 338 win with rl 19 77 grain's with a 200 grain balistic tip . this works well for me but I do not know which powder ,bullet or primer to use. any info would be a great help thanks in advance calvin L

H-4831 or H-4831SC works real well in the 2 I own. Less temperature sensitive than IMR 4831. Flat base bullets work better in mine but I only load 140 - 150 - And 160 grain slugs. No light weights and no 175's either.

I was going to try 150 grain ballistic tips .(i use these in my 338 200 G & 180 G . has any one tried RL 19 in the 7 mag load ? it works well in the 338 . Like I said I am new to the sight and more so to reloading .(bow hunter for years tried of eating track stew)

I use IMR 7828 and or reloder 22 and federal magnum primers in my 7 mag. When you reload start with the lowest powder charge, Load up 5 bullets of each charge, and hit the range. Set up your bags and find your optimum load. After that you can fine tune with bullet seating depth.
Check your brass for pressure signs.

Reloader 22,imr 7828 and h-1000 are all fine choices. The 150gr ballistic tip is fine for deer sized game but for larger game you might want to look at a tougher bullet such as the accubond, partition or tsx.

You didn't say what you'd be shooting at, but I think the 160 grain bullets offer the best all around performance in a big cased 7. I'd use a magnum primer and 70.0 grs of H-4831 in your Weatherby. My choice of bullet would be the BarnesTSX, but if your rifle doesn't like them I'd go Nosler Partition.

I will be using the 7 mag for deer, sheep, goats, mainly as I would use the 338 on elk, moose & bear . I loaded up imr 4831 150 grain ballistic tip's used fed
primers . I starter at 64 grains loaded 6 shells, went up 2 grains the same way to 70.grains . If my scope would get here I could see what will work the best . Thanks again I will let you know how it turns out .
