Load Testing with a Norc M4?

So, I have some 69gr PRVI bullets on the way and will be working up a load for my Norc M4. Given the less than precision nature of the M4, is there any point to doing the usual traverse of loads at 0.2 or 0.3gr intervals?

I am using IMR4895 powder for the first round of testing, my Hornady book gives a max load of 24.9gr and the Hodgdon site gives a max load of 24.8gr. I was planning on simply loading 10 rounds each with charge weights of 24.0gr, 24.5gr and 24.9gr and shooting 2 x 5 shot groups with each one and then picking the best of the bunch.

Is this reasonable or does anyone think I may miss a really great node by using the coarse 0.5gr increment? I should add that I will be mounting a scope for the load development, then running a red dot sight or iron sights afterwards.

I think with only three different options, you may not have enough variance to spot the winner. I've got a bunch loaded to try in 223 and I went with .3 gr increments, 8 steps from bottom to top. Keep us posted.
