So I started doing a load workup on my .308 with some 8208 XBR, I want to try this stuff out since Varget is so hard to find but I seem to see this 8208 XBR always in stock and its supposed to be equal to or even superior to Varget for temp stability and shooting my elk last December in -35*C with ammo loaded last summer in +25*C only proves to me that getting powder that shoots the same regardless of temp should be at the top of my list. So I loaded up some and got out to the range to shoot and this is what I shot. What do you guys think ? Any suggestions from more experienced shooters and loaders would be most appreciated as to where to go from here ? Thanks :canadaFlag:

The range was sheltered in between berms so wind wasn't an issue and I would have loved to chrono them but Supernova decided to shoot his chrono with his new XCR so no velocity data for awhile :)

The one thing that stood out to me was you say you'll be using this for deer and the bullet your testing is a target bullet.wouldn't it be better to work up a load with the actual hunting bullet? Or did I misunderstand your post

I shoot my gun for hunting as well but the vast majority of bullets shot are at paper, I just started with the Nosler first.

He shoots the 168 custom comp year round on paper and has a nice 168 TTSX load for hunting. Just switching powders for better availability year round.
