Varget is not what people say it is. It is an 'OK' powder and that's it.
It's too bad that new shooters get exposed to misinformation and must try and determine the veracity of submissions. Please listen to Dan Chisholm and other top shooters or those whose business is assisting shooters.

Not sure he'll get it yet, Peter, despite your efforts. There are many experienced and accomplished shooters giving information and advice and it's a shame that some people still don't pay attention. Oh well, I guess somebody has to be lowest on the scoreboard....
BTW that N150 I picked up from you is working quite well in my .223, extremely pleased with it so far. I'm amazed at how clean it burns. Now if Lapua would just make an ~86gn Scenar in .224, I'd be all set haha.

Thank you Peter!. With all due respect to some of the opinions expressed here, remember what you paid for free anonymous internet advice. Yes, there are many different powders for the 308 but I can tell you that Varget is the overwhelming first choice for the majority of TR and Palma shooters as well as .308 FTR and Match Rifle shooters. VV is a strong second choice impacted likey due to its ready availability. Dan (RNBRA SHOOTER) is an accomplished TR shooter of national standing. He also has a very impressive curriculum vitae.
CGN has a pretty sorry regard amongst the majority of serious competitive shooters for the very reasons Peter says. Fortunately, folks like Peter and Dan still have the desire and patience to help those in need wade through the reams of BS on here and help make informed choices.
