Hey there,

I have a new 6.5-284 coming together and now that the rifle is on it's way, I'm starting to think about loading for it. It's a Pierce long action with a 26" 1:8 twist barrel.

I'm looking for a little real range experience with powder and bullets? I'll take whatever info you got!

Thanks!

JR

Saw a ad in the EE today for matrix 142, and 150 vld. Did some research, and i do not think my rifle would stabilize them, they also make a 160 vld. Did not think any manufacturers made large for caliber spitzers for the bore. Might want to send a question to Marshal at matrix.

I have two rifles in this caliber. My load for both H4831 XXgrs and Berger 140gr VLD, also the 140gr Sierra bthp. Great caliber, nothing else in a 6.5 will compete with this at 1000Mtrs.
Enjoy

Thank you! I will see if I can source some H4831, I already picked up a couple hundred Berger 140gr Hybrids. I hadn't bothered with the SMK's as I had found in recent history that anything they can do the Hybrids can do better. I may pick some up to try though...

:eek:You havent tried them?? Nothing else compares this was a 750yd WT from NY
I've been experimenting with h1000 and have used 4350. I have a box of matrix 150's. Haven't tried em yet tho. I use 140 vld's
