I am looking at a bar as a back up rifle and the one I was looking at the mag will not come off the floor plate is this normal? i know the remmy semis to load just fill up the mag and put it in and pull back the bolt and let it go, does the bar load the same way or can the bolt be let go slowly ahead so it doesn't make any noise?

I'll offer up a wee bit of experience.
I have a Belgium BAR in .308win I purchased off here.
The mag has the proper stamping for the rifle.

I also wanted a spare mag so a "WTB" I placed and was surprised with two
responses.
I took both.

I ended up such as you with a stuck mag with one of the spares.
I tugged on the spring end of the mag..........opposite the wee tongue.
So on comparison, the front tab or tongue was longer not allowing the
bit of movement back to release it.
A bit of time with a fine file and I made it fit nicely.

Funny thing is, the altered mag works better than the original.
Not sure why, maybe a bit tighter?

Hope this helps.

does it make a lot of noise when you chamber a round, I can get a bar with a bushnell elite 3200 3-9, really good shape for $650

thanks 350, I know the remmys you let it go when you pull the bolt all way back, makes a lot of noise in the am
