Loading Berdan Primers

Hi: Anyone have any experience loading Berdan primers? I have the different size heads just like to talk with someone with experience. Dan

Getting the spent primer out is the issue with berdans. More trouble than it's worth.

I have done thousands. But I have a special water press that pops them out.

Unless you have an unusual caliber for which Boxer brass is not available and can't be made from something else, don't even think about it. The hobby of handloading as we know it on this side of the pond is based on Boxer cases.

I did it years ago using a special tool from RCBS. It prys the berdan primer out. Lots of work. Like GANDERITE says...for unusual caliber only...otherwise it is a waste of time.
