loading big bore

.300 Win mag. 180Gr pills, 73gr of N560. Drops moose quick.

As mentioned, you appear to be accustomed to lighter ammunition, if you've never fired anything with significant recoil I'd try and fire a few rounds from somebody else's first. Also as Ganderite mentioned, .300 win mag would be overkill in new brunswick, but it sure is nice to have here in Saskberta. It's really overkill on deer, I still prefer my .270 for deer, but the .300 is really nice for Elk and Moose.

A thought would be the rem ultra mag. They load their ammo in 3 levels. This allows you to work up to recoil

You don't step in a boxing ring with a titled heavyweight because you think you can box. But hey there's always the 458 Lott. I've been waiting for someone to get handled by one bad enough to unload it at a substantial loss with most of a box of shells with it lol

Personally I like the 458 wm. It's a great round. Yes it kicks. Yes it kills well. There's plenty of bullet selection out there.

Or just go 475 A&M Magnum! 460
Weatherby brass and Woodleigh or Barnes bullets. Will take away most of the want for a serious big bore. But is awesome now and again.
