Loading for .300 WSM

The child has asked me to work up a load for his .300 WSM. I was thinking about using 165 gr Partitions and IMR 4350.

Anyone have any other ideas?

Always have ideas, not many of them are good though.

May want to look into RL17.

I load in 180gr Accubond with RL-17, just great.

I ran the 165 partiton ahead of 67gr of IMR4831 for a few years (CCI mag primer, Win brass, bullet 0.02" off lands). I never tried 4350 as I had a big supply of 4831. RL17 is supposed to give 100fps more speed, I have gotten decent accuracy with RL17 loads but have never chronied my loads to check the speed.

My rifle seems to like the 165's the best, and I have moved to the 165 tsx for everything.

H1000, Retumbo, 7828SSC works too !!! Never tried Mag ro but that would be another. I used Federal 215 Primers and 180gr Accubonds.

My tikka loves the heavier bullets, I use 180 TSXs for hunting (64.0 gr H4350) and 190 SMKs for target (62.5 H4350)

My favourite 300WSM load is RL17 and a 150gr. TTSX @ +3400fps

i know my 300wsm really likes barnes tsx 180gr with 69.5 grains of RL-19 seated at 2.86
very accurate for my firearmoh and fed brass and primers doesnt hurt to weigh your brass a buddy of mine found that fed has two different weights of brass

N550 works great with 165 grain pills.
