Loading For a 30-06 BAR Question

Hey,
Just wondering if anyone can help me out here. I want to start making some loads for my 30-06 BAR and I've never loaded for it before. I always hear 2 different things about loading for 30-06 BAR'S , some people say the gun won't cycle properly with a lighter load and a heavier load is needed other people will say heavier loads will damage the internals of the gun.
I've loaded lots for my bolt 30-06 and I've been doing verrryy good with the following loads:
-51.5 GR of Reloader-15 pushing a 150GR Hornady Interlock SP (Deer Load 1)
-50GR of IMR4064 pushing a 150GR Hornady Interlock SP ( Deer Load 2)
-61.5GR of Relaoder-22 pushing a 180GR Hornady SST (Super Shock Tip) (Moose Load)

I was thinking of starting off with trying the following loads for the BAR:
-50GR of Reloader-15 pushing a 150GR Hornady Interlock SP
-47GR of IMR4064 pushing a 150GR Hornady Interlock SP
-58GR of Reloader-22 pushing a 180GR Hornady SST (Super Shock Tip)

So far my BAR has shot everything that I fed her with no problems, I want and hope to use the same components as they make up my favorite 30-06 hunting loads. So I'm pretty much asking if anyone has any input on this or past experience with loading for a 30-06 BAR and thoughts if I should or should not proceed with trying these loads. Any information and/or opinions would be very much appreciated.

I've reloaded for my 3006 BAR for more than 30 years. My load for hunting and a little practice before each hunting season is 47.5 grs of 4064 and 165gr Hornady SP bullets. This load in my rifle will shoot groups around 1.5" at 100yds. Your combination of 4064 and 150 gr Hornady will probably work well. I've always thought I got a little better accuracy with 165's in both my BAR and Garand ( My Garand load is a little lighter at 46.0 grs). 4064 has always been my go to powder for all my mid caliber rifles from 6.5x55 to 8x57.

I am in the lighter camp. Not lighter exactly, just not max or over, like most people like to push their bolt guns.

Sounds like you are starting 2-3 gr lighter than your bolt guns. Personally i like your idea, try those loads, work them up and find the load that is identical to one you use for the bolt guns.......that is most accurate with the Bar....and go from there.
 
i cannot recall the load i used in my Friends Remington Auto feeder. nor can i remember the model.. but using Varget with 165 Sierra Gamekings got him 1" groups and 2800FPS. I cannot recall the charge but i know it worked well in my Rem 700 while i had it...
Got myself a M70 and with healthy Dose(But still under max) of 4007SSC and 165gr Swift Scirocco 2 i was getting 3000fps and Sub MOA groups. Either or Bullwinkle would not have liked any of the above.

I've never had any issues loading for my rfiles but I just thought I'd ask incase anyone had first hand experience loading for a bar.
I'm just going to try loads out and see how things go as usual.
 
46.7gr of 4064 over a 168gr SMK is what my Garand likes.
It's not a hot load by any stretch of the imagination but it will reliably cycle a Garand.
 
I know it's not the same firearm, but I own a semi-auto Voere 2185 in the same 30-06 caliber.
This funky little rifle prefers Garand pressure handloads, but definitely not any bullet over 170 grains in weight.

I found an accurate 125 grain bullet load with spire point Nosler BTs & Viht N140 powder. Right from the Nosler load book.
 
I've loaded for my dad's Rem 7400 in .270, I found imr 4064 didn't cycle the action well. Either imr 4831 o H4831 cycled reliably even at starting loads.
