Loading for the M10 Ross

Assuming you are asking about 303 British chambering.
I have been shooting a lot of cast bullets through my Ross MKIII and R10 lately. Bought the 180 grain gas checked and lubed bullets, .313 dia. from Bullet barn.
Using 18 grains of H4198, win Lg rifle primer and IVI brass. Easy on the shoulder, easy on the wallet. Wonderfully accurate. Brass lasts almost forever. Caution- be very careful not to double charge a case when loading.
You will need a case mouth expanding die to load cast.

for jacketed bullets I am running Hornady 174 gr RN over 40 grains of IMR4064 in both my Ross MkIII (sporterized military rifle) and R10 (factory sporter)

For .303 Brit. I've been loading and testing the Lyman 314299 bullet in my Ross. That's approximately 205 gr gas check bullet, sized .314 I've been using SR4756 because I got a lb. for free. Started at 10 gr for 1190 fps, 13 gr gives about 1400 fps. I seat the gas check to the base of the neck when seating the bullet.
This powder is position sensitive and will string vertically unless you tilt/tap to the back of the case.
For jacketed I use Horn 150 gr. .312" over RL15 for good accuracy.

My Ross Mk3 and 2 others I've shot like:

13-13.5 grains of red dot behind a Lee c-312-185-1R sized to .311".

Those are 3 groups I shot back to back at 100 yards. I moved the elevation up for each group.

For jacketed loads my Ross drives nails with either a 174 grain Hornaday round nose or a Sierra 180 grain pro hunter. I load those bullets with either 36 grains of imr4895 or 37 grains of H-Varget. I seat them about 10 thou off the lands.

That's a 4 round 200 yard group shot with an as issued Mk3 with iron sights. Those results are repeatable time after time with my Ross and that load. I've tried others but they don't shoot as well.

Tinman's same load cranked up just a little to 38grs of 4895 works amazingly in 26" 303 barrels. And I mean ever barrel I've tried from SMLEs, No4s, Ross sporters and factory sporters. They all love it.

Funny story but that's my accuracy load for all Lee enfields as well as all of my mk2 Rosses. If a Lee won't shoot that we'll it won't shoot anything well.
