Loading Issue with Benelli Super Vinci

So I just purchased a Super Vinci a few weeks ago and it is INSANELY hard to load ammo into. Right out of the box I was experiencing this sort of catching right as the shell was trying to pass the carrier latch. I figured I would take it apart, clean and oil it and it should fix itself. WRONG. The next day, after cleaning, I went to pattern some steel shot and it was even worse than it was with the target load. It was literally impossible to load the second shell into the magazine tube without simultaneously pressing down the bolt release to manually move the carrier latch out of the way.

I contacted Stoeger Canada and they basically said it was my fault for putting it together incorrectly. Even though I explained it was like that out of the box. Now they want me to send it in. Pretty bummed because I ordered the gun FOR HUNTING SEASON and expected it to work properly.

I also noticed that the carrier latch pin fits really loosely into the fore-end. Upon closer inspection the whole that the carrier latch pin goes into is all ####ed up. Doesn't look like a whole, more like a slit. Might be giving the carrier latch too much play which in turn may cause the carrier latch to protrude too far and block the shells as they are being loaded. Just my non-gunsmith opinion.

Anyone else experience this with a Vinci or any other Benelli shotguns?
Anyone have any good or bad stories to share about Stoeger Canada?

That sounds pretty odd. Mine does feed a bit hard but that's compared to my 590 and my defender. It might smooth out with a bit of filing but I haven't had time to mess with it I also have a barely used m4 and it's a bit harder than my pumps. Sometimes a bit of use works out the kinks but yours sounds like an exception.

I know one that would not cycle 3.5" sheĺls right out of the box let alone 2 3/4"target loads . He took it back to the dealer and came home with new A400 unico . He was a much happier camper  .

I’d contact the dealer you bought it from to see if they will be of help. I had an issue with a Ruger I bought from Sail and they exchanged it for me without issues. Also had a problem with a Marlin I purchased from Bass Pro, and they took it back as well. Unfortunately, now that you used it, you may be out of luck

That's funny. I called the shop and asked if I could exchange for an A400 unico. That didn't fly. Kicking myself for not doing that right away.

As far as feeding properly, that's no problem. This thing was eating 3.5" goose loads, 3" BB's all the way down to 2-3/4 target loads (1-1/8 oz). Cycling was smooth. The only stove pipe was when a friend limp wristed a target load. But that's hardly the gun's fault. lol.

Currently the plan is to take it out for opening day for Canada's and then send it to Stoeger Canada for them to take a look at it. I will say this shotgun points and swings like nothing I've ever held. Especially for a 3.5" chamber. If it didn't have this loading issue, I'd be pretty stoked right now.

I did. I bought it from Dante Sports in Montreal. They were nice on the phone but basically said, they would have to send it to Stoeger for them to look at anyway so I might as well do it because I'm geographically closer. Half of me is pissed that they didn't exchange because it was faulty out of the box. The other half understands that they can't just hand out new guns to every clown off the street who claims their gun doesn't work properly. Hence the due diligence.

That being said, I'm sure if I bought this from Cabela's or Sail, they would have taken in back right away. Those big chains can afford it and their reputation is worth more than the price of a shotgun.

I bought one a few years ago and had failure to feed problems so I took it to Stoeger Canada. Their gunsmith worked on the gun while I was there. He said someone at the store (BP) had put the gun together incorrectly and a part was missing. He remedied the issue then and there. I was impressed by the service.
After a few more seasons I had different feed and FTF issues occasionally and I lost confidence in the gun.
Originally the SV was priced about the same as the SBE II but now it is being sold at a much lower price point while the SBE III is marketed as a premium waterfowl gun at prices up around the A400. I don’t want to annoy SV owners but I wonder if Benelli found the SV didn’t hold up as well as the SBE. The SV must be a less expensive gun to build since the receiver is mostly synthetic rather than steel.

Basically the same thing happened to me last week. Just bought a Tkka T3x Lite from Al Flaherty's and right out of the box i experienced loading issue with the bolt. When i contacted them, they told me to open a warranty claim with Stoeger because they are not gunsmith and can't troubleshoot the issue. It would have been fun to just exchange it, but no. Now i have a brand new gun at Stoeger and i'm pretty sure i'll will not get it back before my moose hunt in mid october.

I don't blame Al Flaherty's, i understand that they can't exchange gun like that. But like you said, i know for sure that Sail would had offered me an exchange.
Lesson learned for next time i guess.
